About the Parent Fundraising Committee
The Parent Fundraising Association (PFA) is a charitable society (under the societies Act) created in order for the Belvedere Parkway School Council to be able to raise funds to support the students and enhance learning at our school.
In order to hold a casino fundraising event in Alberta, non-profit groups participating in charitable gaming must be charitable or religious in nature and the proceeds from charitable gaming be directed to charitable or religious purposes. The PFA is the group that actually organize the casino fundraising event, which normally raises 65,000-75,000 approximately every 18 months for the PFA and thus for the school.
Updates from the PFA committee are often heard during or after the School Council Meetings .
